Since being out of school for ages and starting college soon, I realized I really need to brush up on my skills. This book has knocked the dust off the old brain and has me remember or relearn everything I've forgotten. It starts from the basics and goes on from there, it’s very thorough and it shows the problems step by step.

My wife passed her Test. She went from a 340 to a 410. I bought it for her because other reviews said that this BOOK is great for its explanation and methodology. Well about 2 months later she felt REALLY PREPARED. Now my wife is ready to LEARN SOME REAL SKILLS. And don't worry that this book is from 2001 or so... Remember math hasn't changed much since the guys that first used. Egyptians and Greeks.HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE!Thanks all other Reviews before this.

My son said its just as good as the class he took at the Community College. But better. He said the explanations are easier to understand. He missed all 5 tests by 4 - 5 questions. He wanted to make sure the next time he aced it. He feels confidence he will next March.

I can't believe after all these years I'll finally be getting my GED! I'm 38 years old and have finally found a book that actually EXPLAINS math to me in a way that I understand! I really like this book and would recommend it to anyone that needs help with GED math! Very well laid out, and lots of tips to help you along the way. A must have!

I used this book to tutor a 28 year old who had always been afraid of doing math - the book is simple yet comprehensive - on some subjects there could be a little more "color commentary" in descriptions - all in all an excellent companion for any high school student struggling with math - just know your grade school multiplication tables and simplest grade school math skills -follow instructions - do the tests in pencil - repeat tests often until GED Mathematics (Steck-Vaughn Ged Series)you consistently score 80-90% - you'll do fine on your GED Math test... The information is from 2002 and not the current GED needed. The GED has criteria has advanced and this is outdated.
